G Callum Booth reassigned to Royals from Charlotte

Reading, PA – Goaltender Callum Booth has been reassigned to the Reading Royals from the Charlotte Checkers by the Carolina Hurricanes, Royals Head Coach Kirk MacDonald announced Friday. Booth is 7-5-0-1 with a 2.79 goals against average and .902 save percentage with the Royals this season. For his ECHL career, the 21-year-old has put together a 26-11-1-3 mark, 2.53 goals against average and .908 save percentage. Last season as a rookie, he was eighth among ECHL goaltenders with a 2.41 goals against average.The Royals are at Adirondack Fri., Feb. 1 at 7:00 p.m. and return home Sat., Feb. 2 against Manchester at 7:00 p.m. Reading has three goaltenders on the team’s roster: Booth, Andrew D’Agostini and Devin Buffalo.With Charlotte this season (9 GP), Booth has registered a 4-1-1-0 record, 2.53 goals against average and .898 save percentage.Combined between the ECHL and AHL, Booth is 32-13-2-3 in his professional career.A fourth round pick of the Hurricanes in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, Booth competed in the QMJHL from 2013-17. He made the Memorial Cup twice (2015 with Quebec, 2017 with Saint John). In the 2017 QMJHL playoffs, he led netminders with a 16-1-1 record and 1.67 goals against average (.923 save percentage). The Sea Dogs fell in the 2017 Memorial Cup Semifinals to Erie.Booth spent the first three seasons of his major junior career with Quebec and was traded to Saint John midway through his final amateur season.
