Royals players help needy children with Teddy Bear deliveries next Mon., Dec. 18

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals will hold their annual Teddy Bear Toss on Sat., Dec. 16 against the Wheeling Nailers at 7:00 p.m., presented by Met-Ed.  After the Royals score their first goal, fans are encouraged to throw teddy bears on the ice and the bears will be collected for local children’s charities. Tickets are available here. Here’s what you need to know about how the Royals will brighten kids’ days during and after the event.

  • Royals players will visit Tower Health on Mon., Dec. 18 to bring the bears to the children.
  • The collected teddy bears will be donated to more than a dozen local organizations benefitting children in need.
  • Last season, the Royals collected around 1,000 bears and the ice clean up took ten minutes to get the bears on the way to a new home.
  • The Royals will also hand out Christmas Ornaments to the first 2,000 fans and the team will wear special Ugly Sweater jerseys.

The Royals play three home games this weekend starting Fri., Dec. 15 with a game against the Wheeling Nailers at 7:00 p.m. Sunday’s game against Adirondack features $5 Green Zone tickets, magnet photo frame giveaway and dollar dogs, presented by Tower Health.
