Royals Sign Goaltender Evan Cowley to ATO

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League, today announced that team has signed goaltender Evan Cowley to an Amateur Tryout Agreement.

Cowley (6’5 / 196) (21), who hails from Evergreen, Colorado, recently completed his senior season at the University of Denver, where he compiled a record of 5-2-0 with a 1.13 goals against average and .955 save percentage with two shutouts in eleven games for the Pioneers, who ultimately captured the NCAA Division I Men’s Ice Hockey National Championship at United Center in Chicago, Illinois, in early April. A fourth round pick of the Florida Panthers in 2013, Cowley appeared in fifty-two games over four seasons at Denver, compiling a record of 23-15-3 with a composite goals against average of 1.92 and a save percentage of .933 with six shutouts.
