Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League, today announced that the team has acquired forwards Evan Bloodoff and Adam Brace from the Florida Everblades in return for defenseman Mike Marcou. In a separate transaction, the Royals acquired defenseman Chase Golightly from the South Carolina Stingrays in return for future considerations
Bloodoff (5’11/205) (26), a seventh year pro from Nelson, British Columbia, registered sixteen points (8g-8a) and twenty-seven penalty minutes in thirty-six games with Florida this season. Brace (5’10 / 183) (28), a fourth year pro from Cobden, Ontario, recorded eight points (6g-2a) and nine penalty minutes in twenty-one games with the Everblades. He began the season with the Orlando Solar Bears where he had four points (1g-3a) and four penalty minutes in seven games.
Marcou, a sixth year pro from Kings Park, New York, who served as the Royals’ team captain, had twelve points (2g-10a) and four penalty minutes in twenty-seven games with Reading. In three seasons with the Royals, Marcou played a total of 138 regular season games and registered sixty-six points (12g-54a) and fifty-one penalty minutes. In twenty-one post-season games with Reading, Marcou had ten playoff points (5g-5a).
Golightly (5’10/180) (25), a first year pro from Temecula, California, was traded to the Stingrays from the Florida Everblades earlier today. While with Florida, Golightly, who played collegiately at Robert Morris University, registered eight points (1g-7a) and twelve penalty minutes in forty games with the Everblades.
