Royals Sign Forward Matt Robertson

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League, today announced that the team has signed forward Matt Robertson.

Robertson, (6’0/181) (24), a first year pro who hails from Rohnert Park, California, completed a four year collegiate run at Ferris State University in 2015-16 by registering nineteen points (7g-12a) and twenty-two penalty minutes in forty-one games for the Bulldogs, who won the WCHA Final Five Conference Championship and advanced to the NCAA for the second time in Robertson’s career—both times attaining the round of eight. Robertson, who was selected to the 2016 All-California NCAA Men’s Division I team, led Ferris State in assists (6g-17a=23pts) and plus-minus (+7) in thirty-four games during his junior season with the Bulldogs. In 142 total college games, Robertson registered 67 points (26g-41a) and 62 penalty minutes.

Next up is an eight game western swing for the Royals starting in Boise, Idaho, where the Royals will meet the Idaho Steelheads for three straight starting tomorrow (Wednesday, October 26) @ 9:10 pm Eastern. Every game on the road trip—and every road game from this point forward for the Royals—will be televised locally in Berks County, Pennsylvania, on BCTV courtesy of Boscov’s Travel and Apple Vacations. The game night broadcast can also be heard live on iHeartRadio at “Rumba 1340” (Reading), starting with the pre-game warm-up show thirty minutes before the opening faceoff.
