Forward Mike Pereira Returned to Reading

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League, today announced that forward Mike Pereira has been returned to the Royals from the Utica Comets of the American Hockey League. In a separate transaction, forward Matt Hatch was released by the Royals from his Standard Players Contract.

This was the second trip of the season to Comets for Pereira, a second year pro from West Haven, Connecticut, who was most recently loaned to Utica on March 8. In fourteen games with the Comets this year, Pereira has recorded two points (1g-1a) and six penalty minutes. In forty-six games with the Royals this year, Pereira has forty-one points (17g-24a) and twenty penalty minutes and played to plus-13 (+13). Hatch registered twelve points (6g-6a) and twenty-eight penalty minutes in forty-five games with the Royals this season.

The Royals return to action today (Sunday, April 3 @ 4:00 pm) when the team faces the Norfolk Admirals at Santander Arena in Reading, Pennsylvania. The Royals will give away a team picture courtesy of Rieck’s Printing tomorrow—and fans who bring their own skates can join the players for a post-game skate at the Arena. Sunday’s matchup can be heard live on CBS SportsRadio 1240 AM and 98.5 FM in Reading, Pennsylvania, starting with the pre-game warm-up show presented by Highmark Blue Shield at 3:30 pm Eastern Time.
