Defenseman Jesper Pettersson Assigned to Reading

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League, today announced that defenseman Jesper Pettersson has been assigned by the Flyers from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the AHL to Reading.

This is the fourth stint in Reading for Pettersson (5’9/189) (21), a second year pro from Stockholm, Sweden, who was most recently recalled from the Royals and reassigned to Lehigh Valley on Sunday. He picked up two penalty minutes in the Phantoms’ 2-1 victory over Hartford Wolf Pack that day. He has three points in (1g-2a) and twelve penalty minutes in twenty-four games with Lehigh Valley this season. In twenty-seven games with the Royals, Pettersson, a seventh round pick of the Flyers in 2014, has registered eleven points (2g-11a) and fourteen penalty minutes, while playing to a collective plus-9 (+9) with Reading.

Reading returns to action on Friday (March 4 @ 7:00 pm) when the Wheeling Nailers visit Santander Arena in Reading, Pennsylvania. Reading will celebrate Social Media Night on Friday with plenty of related activities and giveaways. Friday’s game day broadcast on CBS Sports Radio 1240 am and 98.5 fm will kick off at 7:00 pm with the pre-game warm-up show presented by Highmark Blue Shield available on the Deibler Dental In-Arena Broadcast (99.3 fm inside Santander Arena). Streaming audio is available free of charge on the Royals’ website; and streaming video is available on a pay-per-view basis through ECHL.TV.
