Goaltender Martin Ouellette Returned to Reading

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League, today announced that goaltender Martin Ouellette has been loaned to the Royals by the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League.

This marks the sixth time this season that Ouellette, a second year pro from Saint-Hippolyte, Quebec, has been loaned to Reading. He was most recently recalled from the Royals to Lehigh Valley on February 4. In his lone appearance with the Phantoms during this most recent stint in the AHL, Ouellette made all sixteen saves he was called upon to make in the third period of Lehigh Valley’s 5-1 loss to the Hershey Bears on February 6 after he came on in substitution of starter Jason LaBarbera. Ouellette has appeared in three games for Lehigh Valley this season (0-2-0-0, 4.50, .877).  In twenty-one games with the Royals, he has compiled a record of 10-8-2-0 with a 2.10 goals against average (tied-fifth best in the league), a .915 save percentage and three shutouts.

The Royals return to action tomorrow (Friday, February 12 @ 7:30 pm) in Norfolk, Virginia, where they will face the Norfolk Admirals. The game night broadcast for Friday’s matchup can be heard live on CBS Sports Radio 1240 am and 98.5 in Reading, Pennsylvania, starting with the pre-game warm-up show presented by Highmark Blue Shield at 7:00 pm Eastern Time. As with all Royals’ road games, Friday’s game will be televised locally in Berks County, Pennsylvania, on BCTV courtesy of Boscov’s Travel and Apple Vacations. Streaming audio is available free of charge on the Royals’ website (follow the ‘headset’ icon); and streaming video is available on a pay-per-view basis through ECHL.TV.
