Forward Cam Reid Returned to Reading from Utica

Forward Cam Reid Returned to Reading from Utica

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League, today announced that forward Cam Reid has been returned to the Royals from the Utica Comets of the AHL. In a separate transaction, defenseman Jesper Pettersson has been recalled by the Flyers from the Royals and re-assigned to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the AHL.

Reid, a fourth year pro from Tsawwassen, Delta, British Columbia, was loaned to Utica on December 18. He played two games with the Comets, recording one assist. Reid, who is riding a four game point streak for the Royals, has nineteen points (7g-12a) and twelve penalty minutes in twenty-two games this season for Reading.

Pettersson (5’9/189) (21), a second year pro from Stockholm, Sweden, was assigned to Reading for the second time this season on December 15. He played three games during this stint with the Royals without registering points or penalty minutes. He has played eight games this season for the Royals (0g-0a, 2 PIMs, +2). A seventh round pick of the Flyers in 2014, Pettersson has two points (1g-1a) and eight penalty minutes in fourteen games with the Phantoms this year.

The Royals return to action after a week-long holiday break tonight (Saturday, December 26 @ 7:05 pm) at First Arena in Elmira, New York, where the team will face the Elmira Jackals. The game night broadcast for Saturday’s matchup can be heard live on CBS SportsRadio 1240 am and 98.5 in Reading, Pennsylvania, starting with the pre-game warm-up show presented by Highmark Blue Shield at 6:35 pm Eastern Time. As with all Royals’ road games, Saturday’s game will be televised live in Berks County, Pennsylvania, on BCTV courtesy of Boscov’s Travel and Apple Vacations.
