Defenseman Jesper Pettersson Assigned to Reading

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League, today announced that defenseman Jesper Pettersson has been assigned by the Flyers from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the AHL to Reading.

This is the second stint this season in Reading for Pettersson, a second year pro from Stockholm, Sweden. He was originally sent to Reading on November 11 and played five games for the Royals (0g-0a, 2 PIMs, +3) before being recalled on November 21. A seventh round pick of the Flyers in 2014, Pettersson has two points (1g-1a) and eight penalty minutes in fourteen games with the Phantoms this year.

The Royals complete the team’s season-long seven game road trip tomorrow (Wednesday, December 16 @ 7:15 pm) when Reading makes the first trip in team history to The Scope in Norfolk, Virginia, to face the Norfolk Admirals. Wednesday’s game night broadcast can be heard live on CBS SportsRadio 1240 am and 98.5 in Reading, Pennsylvania, starting with the pre-game warm-up show presented by Highmark Blue Shield at 6:45 pm Eastern Time. As with all Royals’ road games, Wednesday’s game will be televised live in Berks County, Pennsylvania on BCTV courtesy of Boscov’s Travel and Apple Vacations. Streaming audio is available free of charge on the Royals’ website (follow the ‘headset’ icon); and streaming video is available on a pay-per-view basis through ECHL.TV.
