Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League, today announced that goaltender Connor Knapp has been recalled to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League. In other transactions undertaken today: (i) forward Brandon Alderson was assigned by the Flyers from the Phantoms to the Royals; and (ii) the Royals signed emergency back-up goaltender Brent Troyan.

This is the second recall of the season to Lehigh Valley for Knapp, a fourth year pro from Rochester, New York. He has not yet appeared in an AHL game this season. In nine games with the Royals, Knapp has compiled a record of 4-4-0-0 with a 3.22 goals against average and a.879 save percentage with one shutout. In ten games with Lehigh Valley, he has accrued four penalty minutes. This is the first stint of the year with Reading for Troyan, who has served as an EBG for the Royals on several prior occasions, most recently in the 2011-12 season.

The Royals return to action tonight (Friday, November 27 @ 7:00 pm) when the team will kick off a stretch of three home games in three days. On Friday, the team will take on the Greenville Swamp Rabbits in a “Flashback Friday” game in which the first 2000 fans eighteen years of age and older will get a lottery ticket from the Pennsylvania Lottery.
