Forward Brandon Alderson Recalled to Lehigh Valley

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League, today announced that forward Brandon Alderson has been recalled by the Flyers and reassigned to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League. In a separate transaction, the Royals loaned forward Cam Reid to Lehigh Valley.

Alderson, a third year pro from Oakville, Ontario, was assigned to the Royals yesterday. He scored his first goal of the season 8:10 into the third period while the Royals were playing short-handed in Reading’s 6-3 loss to the Greenville Swamp Rabbits last night. In three games with Reading, Alderson has three points (1g-2a). In ten games with Lehigh Valley, he has accrued four penalty minutes. This is the first trip to the AHL of the season for Reid, a fourth year pro from Tsawwasssen, Delta, British Columbia. He has fourteen points (3g-11a) in fourteen games with Reading this year. Reid has played eighty-two AHL games (6g-20a=26pts, 35 PIMs) with five different teams in his career.

The Royals take on the Greenville Swamp Rabbits tonight (Saturday, November 28 @ 7:00 pm) at Santander Arena in Reading. Tonight, the organization will celebrate “Shelter Night” and “Faith and Family Night”. The team will give away the first in a series of four Fifteenth Anniversary Commemorative Pucks to the first 2000 fans in attendance courtesy of Reading Health System. The team will also wear Star Wars themed special jerseys which will be auctioned after the game with the net proceeds going to Opportunity House. The Royals will also be collecting non-perishable food items and lightly used clothing for Opportunity House, Family Promise and the Greater Berks Food Bank.

The game night broadcast for Saturday’s matchup can be heard live on CBS SportsRadio 1240 am and 98.5 in Reading, Pennsylvania, starting with the pre-game warm-up show presented by Highmark Blue Shield at 6:30 pm Eastern Time.
