Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League, and Cumulus Media today jointly announced that the Royals’ radio broadcasts for the organization’s Fifteenth Anniversary Season will be heard on CBS SportsRadio 1240 am and 98.5 fm. The on-air broadcasts will include the Royals’ 2015-16 regular season and playoff games, as well as the team’s weekly coach’s show.
The Royals’ game night broadcasts will kick off with the pre-game warm-up show beginning thirty minutes before the opening face-off and conclude with a post-game wrap up after the completion of the on-ice action. CBS SportsRadio 1240 am and 98.5 fm will also air the team’s weekly one-hour coach’s show, Royals Radio Recon, on Tuesday nights from 6 to 7 pm. Team broadcaster, Mark Thompson, will continue to handle the game action play-by-play and host the weekly coach’s show for the eleventh consecutive year with Pat Richards providing color commentary at home games for his thirteenth season.
Please note that CBS SportsRadio 1240 am and 98.5 fm is also the Reading-area home for NFL football presented by Westwood One Sports, as well as Penn State University football. Although Royals games will not be pre-empted by NFL games this year, depending on the PSU football game times, which are still pending and subject to change, there may be certain conflicts that would pre-empt Royals’ broadcasts. More information about CBS SportsRadio 1240 am and 98.5 fm can be found at the station’s website, www.wiov985.com.
