Forward Kevin Goumas Loaned to the Royals from Lehigh Valley

Reading, PA – Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the NHL and the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the AHL, today announced that forward Kevin Goumas has been loaned by the Phantoms to the Royals.

Goumas (5’10/167) (23), a first year pro who hails from Long Beach, New York, has recorded three points (1g-2a) and twenty-two penalty minutes in twenty-nine games with the Phantoms this season. Goumas actually began his pro career late last season with the Adirondack Phantoms after the conclusion of a standout four-year career at the University of New Hampshire. While with the Phantoms last year, he picked up four points (1g-3a) and eight penalty minutes in eleven games. In his senior season at UNH, Goumas racked up a team-leading fifty-two points (19g-33a) in forty games with the Wildcats. At the conclusion of that season, Goumas was selected as the team’s Most Valuable Player and a Hockey East Second Team All-Star, as well as being chosen to the New England Sports Writers’ Division I All-Star Team. Goumas completed his collegiate career as the twenty-ninth leading scorer in UNH team history with 146 points (44g-102a) in 146 career collegiate games.

NEXT UP: The Royals kick off another three game ‘mini-series’ against the Elmira Jackals this Friday (January 16) at First Arena in Elmira, New York (@ 7:05 pm). The game night broadcast for Friday’s game can be heard live on CBS SportsRadio 1240 am and 98.5 in Reading, Pennsylvania, starting with the pre-game warm-up show presented by Highmark Blue Shield at 6:35. As with all Royals’ road games this season, next Friday’s game will be televised live in Berks County, Pennsylvania, on BCTV courtesy of Boscov’s Travel and Apple Vacations. Streaming audio is available free of charge on the Royals’ website (follow the ‘headset’ icon); and streaming video is available on a pay-per-view basis through ECHL.TV.
