Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League and the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League, announced today that the team’s merchandise outlet, currently known as the Fan-Attic (700 Penn Avenue, Reading, PA), will be open special hours this Saturday, September 27, 2014, from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon for a ‘Final Hoorah Sale and Sendoff’.
The Fan-Attic, which has recently been re-stocked with loads of brand new and exciting items, will offer special prices and deals this Saturday, as the team seeks to get fans ready for the 2014-15 season while clearing some space for a major renovation and expansion of the team’s in-arena merchandise outlet, which is located in the northwest corner of Santander Arena at the Eighth and Penn Street entrance.
The renovation and expansion project, which will increase the size of the store by over fifty percent, is being designed to present a fresh, new and exciting look to the merchandise outlet, while providing additional room for a fan friendly shopping experience and an expansion of the available product line. Consistent with the new look and feel (and the unrelenting demands of the our primary prima donna, Slapshot), the new merchandise outlet will be named The Lion’s Den. Slapshot will host the Grand Opening of his newly renovated ‘pad’ prior to the Royals’ home opener on Saturday, October 25, 2014 when the team will kick off the home portion of the 2014-15 season against the Elmira Jackals.
The Royals open the 2014-15 season at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, West Virginia, where the team will face the Wheeling Nailers on Saturday, October 19. The home portion of the schedule will kick off the following Saturday (October 25, 2014 @ 7:05 pm) when Elmira will travel to Santander Arena. Royals’ season tickets are currently available.
