Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League and the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League, today announced that the organization will host its annual Town Hall Meeting on Thursday, August 28, 2014, from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm inside the Santander Performing Arts Center (136 North Sixth Street) in Reading, Pennsylvania.
Please note that the doors at SPAC will open at 6:00 pm for persons attending the Town Hall Meeting. Fans are welcome to park free of charge (starting at 5:30 pm) at the Poplar and Walnut Parking Garage courtesy of the Reading Parking Authority.
This season’s Town Hall Meeting will feature representatives of the Philadelphia Flyers (currently expected to include team President Paul Holmgren) and the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, the Royals’ owner Jack Gulati, team President Drew Bell, Head Coach Larry Courville, and Assistant Coach Kirk MacDonald, who will address the Town Hall crowd and open the floor to questions from fans. The Royals also anticipate the attendance of at least two players currently on the team’s roster.
A number of pertinent topics will be addressed during this season’s Town Hall Meeting, including the new affiliation relationship between the Flyers, Phantoms, and Royals, the current state of the ECHL, the Royals’ schedule, the team’s current roster, pending player personnel decisions, the organization’s broadcast plans, and several new and interesting elements in the promotional schedule. The Royals never want anyone to leave empty-handed, so the team will have several drawings for prizes for those in attendance; and, of course, we anticipate that we will have a supply of newly-minted affiliated related gear at the THM.
The Royals open the 2014-15 season on Saturday, October 18, at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, West Virginia, where the team will face the Wheeling Nailers. The home portion of the schedule will kick off the following Saturday (October 25, 2014 @ 7:05 pm) when the Elmira Jackals travel to Santander Arena. Royals’ season tickets are currently available.
