Reading, PA – Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, today announced that the team has claimed forward Tyler Brenner from ECHL Waivers.
Brenner began the season with the Bakersfield Condors, where he recorded one assist and six penalty minutes in fifteen games. He was released by Bakersfield on Wednesday. A third year pro from Linwood, Ontario, Brenner (6’2/207) (25), recorded nine points (3g-6a) and eighteen penalty minutes in twenty games with the Royals in his first full season of pro (2011-12). That year, he also played 21 games in the AHL with the Toronto Marlies (1g-2a=3pts, 4 pims). Prior to turning pro, Brenner had a stellar three year collegiate stint at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
The Royals return to action tomorrow (Friday, November 29 @ 7:05 pm) when the team will face the Cincinnati Cyclones at Santander Arena in Reading, Pennsylvania. The first 2000 fans fifteen years of age and older will receive a Royals’ Championship Flag courtesy of Metro Bank. Also, the first 2500 fans eighteen years of age and older will receive a lottery ticket courtesy of the Pennsylvania Lottery.
