Royals Open 2025 with Friday Face-off Against Railers

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals, proud ECHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers and Lehigh Valley Phantoms, open the 2025 calendar year at Worcester for a two-game road series against the Railers on Friday, January 3rd at 7:05 PM and Saturday, January 4th at 6:05 PM.

The Royals return home to host the Trois-Rivières Lions for a three-game series on Friday, January 10th and Saturday, January 11th at 7 PM, as well as Sunday, January 12th at 3 PM. The home games feature the 'Fans Pick the Music Night,' Star Wars Night, and Puck N' Pancakes promotional games, respectively.

Royals Right Now:

The Royals enter their sixth meeting of the season with the Railers (4-1-0) with a 10-17-4-0 record after suffering a 7-3 loss to the Wheeling Nailers on Tuesday, December 31st at WesBanco Arena. Prior to the New Year's Eve puck drop, Reading split their two-game series with Worcester on Friday, December 27th (2-1 W) and Saturday, December 28th (5-3 L).

Defenseman Gianfranco Cassaro enters the series with a team-high 14 assists, 19 points and a four-game point streak. Forward Todd Skirving leads Reading in goals (8) after scoring one of Reading's three tallies against the Nailers on Tuesday.

Scouting the Railers:

Worcester enters the two-game series with a 12-17-1-2 record (27 points) through the first 32 games of their 2024-25 campaign. Prior to the series opener, the Railers split their two-game series against the Adirondack Thunder with a 7-3 loss on Saturday, December 29th before taking the second game on Sunday, December 30th, 6-5.

ECHL affiliates to the New York Islanders and Bridgeport Islanders, Worcester's offense is led by forward Anthony Repaci who has a team-high 19 goals and 40 points, which rank second and first in the league, respectively. Defenseman Connor Welsh leads Worcester in assists with 23 on the season.
