Reading, PA - The Reading Royals, proud ECHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers and Lehigh Valley Phantoms, shift their four-game road trip to Maine for back-to-back face-offs against the Mariners on Saturday at 6:00 PM and Sunday at 3:00 PM at Cross Insurance Arena.
The Royals return home on Wednesday, November 6th to host the Norfolk Admirals at 7:00 PM at Santander Arena for a Wild Wednesday promotional game. Royals Right Now:
The Royals enter the two-game series with the Mariners with a 4-3 record and 8 points through seven games of the 2024-25 season. Previously, Reading dropped back-to-back games against Trois-Rivières to open their four-game road trip on Wednesday, October 30, 4-2, and Friday, November 1, 3-2. Defensemen Emile Chouinard and Gianfranco Cassaro scored their first goals of their professional careers in the Friday loss, while goaltender Parker Gahagen (2-3-0) saved 24 of 27 shots faced. Forward Connor McMenamin leads the Royals in points (6), goals (4) and game-winning goals (2), which is tied for the most among active skaters in the ECHL.
Scouting the Mariners:
Maine hoists a 1-4-0 record with 2 points through five games to open their 2024-25 campaign. The Mariners previously suffered a shutout, 4-0, at the hands of Henrik Tikkanen and the Worcester Railers on Sunday, October 27. Maine dropped the prior two games to the Norfolk Admirals on Friday, October 25, 6-3, and Saturday, October 26, 3-1. Maine's lone win came in their second game of the season against the Wheeling Nailers at home on Saturday, October 19, 4-1.
The Mariners, ECHL affiliates to the Boston Bruins, are led by forward Evan Vierling in points (5) and assist (3). Vierling is tied for the team lead in goals with Wyllum Deveaux and Patrick Guay with three goals each.
