Reading, PA - The Reading Royals, proud ECHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers and Lehigh Valley Phantoms, announced that defenseman Connor Walters has been acquired from the Kalamazoo Wings in exchange for forward Travis Broughman.

Additionally, the Royals have traded forward Parker AuCoin to the Tulsa Oilers in exchange for Future Considerations and defenseman Sam Sedley has been recalled by Lehigh Valley from his loan to Reading.

Walters, 27, has registered two penalty minutes and a -6 rating in seven games to to open his fourth professional season with Kalamazoo. The Welland, Ontario native has accumulated 34 points (5g-29a), 72 penalty minutes and a -11 rating across 134 ECHL career games between Toledo (2021-22), Wichita (2021-23) and Kalamazoo (2023-24).

In his rookie season, the 6'1", 205-pound, right-shot defenseman appeared in 44 games between Toledo and Wichita in 2021-22, scoring nine points (3g-6a) before heading to Czechia and playing one game for Orli in the ICEHL. He returned to Wichita for 2022-23, notching one goal and 15 assists in 63 games for the Thunder.

Walters played three seasons at Brock University in the USports where he recorded 29 points (3g-26a) and 10 penalty minutes in 56 games. Additionally, Walters played five seasons in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) for the Owen Sound Attack (2013-16) and Hamilton Bulldogs (2016-18) where he totaled 67 points (10g-57a) and 36 penalty minutes.

Broughman, 27, recorded four points (3g-1a), two penalty minutes and a -5 rating in 19 games with the Royals this season. The Richmond, Virginia native has collected 64 points (29g-35a) in 133 ECHL career games between Adirondack and Reading.

AuCoin, 26, registered six points (4g-2a) in 12 games as a Royal after being claimed off of waivers by Reading on October 16th. The St. Albert, Alberta native has garnered 21 points (12g-19a) across 35 ECHL career games between Idaho, Atlanta and Reading.

The deadline to complete Future Considerations is 3:00 p.m. ET on June 20, 2025.

Sedley, 21, registered 11 points (1g-10a), four penalty minutes and a -2 rating in 17 games to begin his professional career with Reading. The St. Mary's, Ontario native scored his first professional career goal on November 9th against the Indy Fuel.

The 5'10", 154-pound, right-shot defenseman played his prior four seasons in the OHL with the Owen Sounds Attack where he set a team record as the highest-scoring defenseman in Owen Sound history with 168 points (21g-147a) in 236 career games. He posted career highs in goals (9) assists(54) and points (63).

Additionally, Sedley attended the last two Flyers Development Camps in the summer and the last two Flyers Rookie Camps and Training Camps.

Royals Upcoming:

The Royals open a two-game road series with the Adirondack Thunder on Friday, November 29th at 7:00 PM and Saturday, November 30th at 7:00 PM at Cool Insuring Arena.
