The Reading Royals, proud affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, announced Tuesday the acquisition of goaltender Logan Flodell from the South Carolina Stingrays in exchange for Cam Strong.
Flodell, 25, is a 6-foot, 181-pound netminder in his first year of professional hockey. The Regina, Canada native played collegiately at Acadia University where he recorded a 27-32-0 record with a .906 save percentage.
Previously, he played 161 games in the WHL for the Seattle Thunderbirds(52), Saskatoon Blades(48), Swift Current Broncos(35), and Lethbridge Hurricanes(26). He went 86-53-13 and hoisted a .908 save percentage and 2.92 goals-against average.
In six ECHL appearances, he recorded a 1-4-0 record, .886 save percentage and a 3.05 goals-against average.
Flodell was taken 47th overall in the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft by the Seattle Thunderbirds.
