Royals announce 2021-22 media coverage requirements and credentialing

The Reading Royals, proud affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, announced Friday their media credentialing process for the 2021-22 season.

Media organizations have until Thursday, Oct. 14, to request full-season credentials. They should contact Director of Communications and Community Engagement Dylan Coyle at dcoyle@royalshockey.com or 484-667-0143 to secure credentials for the 2021-22 season.

Single game credentials must be requested at least 48 hours before the designated home game starts.

During game days, media members must show proof of vaccination and be masked at all times when in vicinity of any players or authorized hockey personnel. Media will be allowed player access only in the designated interview room area outside of the home locker room on the event level as long as the media member is vaccinated and masked. Press conferences in the interview room will be conducted with a distance of at least six feet between the player or authorized hockey personnel and the media member.

Other than the interview room, media members’ designated area to watch the game will be from press row above section 120.

Following each home game, head coach and select player availability will be conducted approximately 15 minutes following the end of each match. Press conference coverage will be shown live on Facebook Live. During away games, media availability will be subject to the needs of media groups and availability of the team. Press should contact Coyle to organize away game conferences.

When available, head coach and player availability will be made open to the press on Tuesdays of game weeks where the team is practicing at Santander Arena. These conferences will be conducted entirely on Zoom, of which links will be sent out the morning of each day there will be availability.

For any questions regarding media credentialing or policies for the 2021-22 Reading Royals season, contact Coyle.
