Reading Royals and Santander Arena to be at 100% capacity for season opener

READING, PA – The Reading Royals, proud affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, announced today that all games for the 20th Anniversary Season will return to full-capacity crowds based on the current guidance and recommendations of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania on COVID-19.

The Royals took the 2019-20 season off due to the worldwide Coronavirus pandemic along with the rest of the ECHL’s North Division. They will kick off the 2021-22 season Oct. 23 marking the first time since March 10, 2020 that they will have skated in an ECHL game. The Royals had gone 14-3-0-1 in their last 18 games at the time of the 2019-20 cancellation and went 22-7-2-0 in front of its home crowd that season.

“We couldn’t be more excited for people to return to the stands at Santander Arena for Royals games this October,” said David Farrar, general manager of the team and arena. “Our celebration of the Royals’ 20th Anniversary Season is for the fans who have both been around the club since its first year in 2001 to newfound supporters of the team.”

The Royals’ 20th Anniversary Season begins Saturday, Oct. 23 against the Norfolk Admirals. Reserve your seats today by signing up for Season Tickets or Mini Plans for just $1 down. Full Season Ticket Holders will receive free parking in the South Penn Garage.
