Reading, PA - The Reading Royals, proud ECHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers and Lehigh Valley Phantoms, announced Sunday defenseman David Drake and forward Steven Swavely have been loaned to Reading from Lehigh Valley. Reading hosts Worcester Sunday at 4:00 p.m. for a $1 deal day ($1 kids tickets, $1 hot dogs, $1 nachos, $1 sodas) and the last free postgame skate of the season (pres. by Body Zone).Swavely played two games in this most-recent call-up to Lehigh Valley and scored his first AHL goal of the season Feb. 9 vs. Hershey. Drake skated in his first AHL game of the season Saturday (SOL, Hartford).A Berks County native and graduate of Muhlenberg High School, Swavely has spent all of his four professional seasons in the Flyers organization. This season, the 6-foot-1, 190-lb. pivot has tallied eight goals, 26 points and a plus-nine rating in 29 games with Reading. For his ECHL career, Swavely has generated 124 points (53g) in 134 games, while registering seven goals and 18 points in 107 career AHL contests. Drake is in his second professional season since completing his NCAA career at the University of Connecticut in 2018. He scored his first ECHL goal of the season Nov. 2 vs. Norfolk and has pitched in five assists over 41 games (+5 rating). The 25-year-old native of Naperville, IL was selected by Philadelphia in the seventh round (192nd overall) at the 2013 NHL Entry Level Draft. In 105 ECHL games, Drake has two goals, 14 points and 68 PIM.
