Reading, PA – The Reading Royals, proud ECHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers and Lehigh Valley Phantoms, announced Saturday goaltender Branden Komm has been returned on loan from Lehigh Valley.Komm, 27, was recalled by Lehigh Valley Jan. 23 and played Feb. 2 at Hershey, denying 31 shots (2 GA) in a loss to the Bears. In the AHL this season, Komm is 1-2-0 with a 3.28 goals against average and .908 save percentage. With the Royals, Komm has pitched a 5-3-1-1 record to go along with a 2.67 goals against average and .907 save percentage.In his Royals career, the Williamsville, NY native has gone 11-5-3-1 in 23 games (2.39 GAA, .927 sv. %). The Royals acquired him one season ago from Manchester in exchange for the ECHL rights to defenseman Adam Comrie. Komm began his Royals career with four straight wins and consecutive shutouts, the only goalie in team history to accomplish that feat.In 2016-17, Komm played for Idaho and ranked 10th in the ECHL with a 2.69 goals against average and .917 save percentage.The Bentley University graduate is in his fifth professional season.
