Met-Ed partners to sponsor special Opening Weekend Oct. 13-14
Reading, PA – The Reading Royals, proud ECHL affiliate of Philadelphia Flyers and Lehigh Valley Phantoms, are proud to announce the team has partnered with Met-Ed for the seventh straight season. Earlier this month, the Royals announced the opening weekend of the season, Oct. 13-14 vs. Worcester, will be presented by Met-Ed. The Opening Weekend includes a world record attempt at the most cowbells played, a special pregame block party, and an appearance by Philadelphia Eagles legends Vince Papale, Bill Bergey. Additionally, Met-Ed and the Royals will host a pregame tailgating event and cornhole tournament Oct. 14 before the 5:00 p.m. puck drop.
The Royals will attempt to set a world record for cowbells played at a time during the team’s home opener Sat., Oct. 13 vs. Worcester. The first 6,500 fans will receive a cowbell, presented by Met-Ed.
