Royals get D Vasaturo from Kalamazoo for future considerations

Reading, PA – The Royals acquired defenseman Charlie Vasaturo from the Kalamazoo for future considerations, Head Coach Kirk MacDonald announced Thursday. A 27-year-old defenseman from Sewell, NJ, Vasaturo has one goal and eight points in 50 games with the Wings this season. He is a third-year professional and Union College graduate.

Last campaign, Vasaturo dressed in all 72 regular season games for the Wings and established career highs with seven goals and 16 points. He has 12 goals, 35 points and 86 penalty minutes over 159 professional games. Additionally, Vasaturo has suited up in 12 Kelly Cup Playoff games for Kalamazoo and ripped in two playoff goals.

From 2009-11, the 6-foot-2, 201-lb. blueliner skated for the BCHL’s Salmon Arm Silverbacks and was alternate captain his final season.
