John Muse reassigned to Reading

Magic number is 7 and Royals are home Wednesday and Friday  

Reading, PA – The Philadelphia Flyers have reassigned goaltender John Muse to the Reading Royals from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, the organizations announced Tuesday.

Muse, 29, has pitched a 10-1-1 record, 2.13 goals against average and .931 save percentage with Lehigh Valley this campaign. Since Feb. 1, he’s accrued an 8-0-1 mark. The East Falmouth, MA native recorded a shutout vs. Springfield Mar. 18 (23 saves). For his AHL career, Muse is 86-58-7 with nine shutouts, a 2.62 goals against average and .915 save percentage.

With Reading, Muse is 17-5-2-0 with a pair of shutouts. His 2.27 goals against average ranks sixth in the league and .930 save percentage is second. Muse registered an ECHL career-long seven-game win streak in December and January. From Dec. 1-Jan. 28, he went 12-1-0-0 with a 2.05 goals against average and .940 save percentage.

In his seventh professional season, the 2012 Kelly Cup Playoffs MVP has appeared in 77 ECHL games (44-21-6-6, 2.74 GAA and .914 sv.%).
