Royals shut out by Railers, 1-0

Worcester, MA – The Reading Royals allowed the only goal to Jeff Kubiak late in the first period and could not solve Mitch Gillam (26 saves) in a 1-0 loss to the Worcester Railers Wednesday at the DCU Center.

Kubiak scored with 25 seconds left in the first on a slow deflection. Barry Almeida and Frank DiChiara assisted.

Reading had six shots in the first and seven in the second. Despite 13 tries in the third, Gillam earned his second professional shutout.

Mark Dekanich allowed one goal on 28 shots. He has appeared in eight straight games.

The Royals were 0-for-4 on the power play and killed off both Worcester chances.
