Returned on loan from Lehigh Valley
Glens Falls, NY – The Reading Royals received defenseman James de Haas on loan from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms Sunday prior to Reading’s 5:00 p.m. New Year’s Eve game at Adirondack.
de Haas has skated in five games with Reading, recording seven assists and a plus-eight rating. His last game with the Royals was Nov. 11 vs. Jacksonville, when he recorded a professional-high four assists and plus-five rating. After the career game, he was recalled Nov. 13 to the Phantoms. With Lehigh Valley, the Mississauga, ON native has one goal, eight assists and a plus-six rating.
Over four years at Clarkson, the rookie compiled 24 goals and 74 points in 149 games from 2013-17. During a standout senior season, de Haas registered 29 points, the most by a Clarkson blueliner in 14 seasons. He is 23 years old, stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 217 pounds.
After Sunday’s bout, the Royals are on the road to face Worcester on Wed., Jan. 3 at 7:05 p.m., with coverage beginning at 6:50 p.m. with Royals Pregame on BCTV and Rumba 1340.
The Royals play three home games next weekend Jan. 5-7 and start a season-long five-game homestand.
