Royals Designate Adam "Briscoe Disco" Section Inside Santander Arena

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League, today announced that the organization has established the Adam “Briscoe Disco” Section inside Santander Arena in Reading, Pennsylvania.

For the next twelve home games, beginning with the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday matinee game this Monday (January 16 @ 1:00 pm) and continuing through the team’s Faith and Family Night on Sunday, February 26 (@ 5:00 pm), Section 103 will be designated as the “Briscoe Disco” Section in recognition of long-time Royals’ fan—and dancing enthusiast—Adam Briscoe, who unfortunately sustained significant injuries in an accident last week in Reading.

“As we’ve all witnessed over the last week, Adam is an important part of the Reading community, and he makes a considerable contribution to our fan experience on Royals’ game nights,” said Royals’ President Drew Bell. “We really feel that Adam is a cherished member of our family, which is certainly consistent with the overwhelming outpouring of concern that our fans have shown regarding his well-being. We hope that by designating Section 103 as the Briscoe Disco Section we can do a little bit to encourage and facilitate his recovery, so he can get back to the arena soon and lead all of our fans in his one-of-a-kind dancing style.”

For the next twelve home games, fans who purchase a ticket in Section 103 can also purchase a second ticket for half price. Season ticket holders in Section 103 will also be able to purchase a ticket for 50% off for each of these games. One dollar from every ticket sold in Section 103 during this time period will be donated to the Adam Briscoe Medical Fund. Starting on Friday (January 13) at 10:00 am, fans can use the ticket promo “DISCO” when purchasing tickets through Ticketmaster to receive the discount and ensure that the appropriate donation is made. Prior to that, fans can simply call the Royals’ office (610-898-7825) to purchase tickets at the discounted price. Fans sitting in Section 103 will be encouraged to lead the arena in a dance during the game night activities, and the team will create a video compilation of these dancing efforts, which will be sent to Adam for his review.
