Six Royals to Participate in AHL Training Camps

Six Royals to Participate in AHL Training Camps

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League, today announced that six players who are signed to an ECHL contract with the Royals will participate in American Hockey League pre-season training camps. The three forwards and three defensemen will head to camps with four different AHL teams: the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, the Toronto Marlies, the Hartford Wolf Pack, and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

The Royals will send three players to Lehigh Valley’s training camp: forwards Justin Crandall and Ryan Penny and defenseman Miles Liberati. Defenseman Nick Luukko will attend training camp with Toronto; forward Mike Pereira will participate in training camp with Hartford; and defenseman Derik Johnson will attend camp with Bridgeport.

Season Sixteen of “Hometown Hockey” kicks off for the Royals on Saturday, October 15, (7:00 pm) when the Elmira Jackals visit Santander Arena.
