Royals Agree to Terms with Forward Zach Hall

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League, today announced that the team has agreed to terms with forward Zach Hall.

The Royals have announced seventeen players as signed to ECHL Standard Players Contracts for the 2016-17 season. In addition to Hall, Reading has announced the signing of forwards Justin Crandall, Robbie Czarnik, Alexander Gogolev, Olivier Labelle, Mike Pelech, Ryan Penny, Mike Pereira, Joe Rehkamp, Ian Watters and Matt Wilkins and defensemen Florian Iberer, Miles Liberati, Nick Luukko, Derik Johnson, Todd Perry and Mike Marcou.

Hall (5’11/187) (23), who hails from Belleville, Ontario, will be entering his first year of pro. For the past two seasons, Hall has played Canadian university hockey for St. Thomas University in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Last year, in a season shortened by injury, he registered two points (1g-1a) in four games. He had nine points (5g-4a) and fourteen penalty minutes in ten games in his first year with the Tommies. Prior to that, Hall played five seasons with the Barrie Colts in the Ontario Hockey League, racking up 224 points (68g-156a) and 138 penalty minutes in 221 regular season games. His most explosive season may have been 2012-13, when he led Barrie—and was eleventh in the OHL—with 81 points (24g-57a) and 38 penalty minutes in 63 regular season games. He also added twenty-eight points (7g-21a) in nineteen post-season games as the Colts advanced all the way to the OHL championship finals before being defeated by the London Knights.

Season Sixteen of “Hometown Hockey” kicks off for the Royals on Saturday, October 15, (7:00 pm) when the Elmira Jackals visit Santander Arena.
