Royals Single Game Tickets for Season Sixteen of Hometown Hockey Set to Go on Sale on Thursday (August 25)

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League, today announced that single game tickets for the 2016-17 regular season will go on sale on Thursday, August 25, at 10:00 am at the Royals’ NEW Ticket Office (2503 Kutztown Road, Reading, PA; 610-898-7825). Beginning Thursday, fans can also log onto www.royalshockey.com to purchase single game tickets for the upcoming season.

Season Sixteen of “Hometown Hockey” for the Royals kicks off with a rock and roll bang on Saturday, October 15, when the Pat McGee Band hits the stage for the Opening Night Block Party, which will be set up on Penn Street directly adjacent to Santander Arena. The block party will begin at 4 pm and continue straight into the pre-game activities, leading to the opening faceoff in the game between the Royals and the long-time rival Elmira Jackals at 7:00 pm. Fans will be treated to what promises to be the most exciting season-launching, pregame presentation in team history and actually will be part of the effort to take the energy to the next level with “BOOM-BOOM” sticks that will be given out to all in attendance courtesy of Reading Health System.

With the Royals headed on a long western eight-game road trip starting on October 26, fans will want to make the most of the only other time to see the team at home in October—on Friday, October 21, 2016 (@ 7:00 pm) when the team will face the Manchester Monarchs in the team’s Octoberfest / Halloween Celebration, which will include a beer stein giveaway, as well as a special access only beer tasting event sponsored by the local brew masters, DeWalt Brewing. That night, the kids will also have a chance to get decked out in their costumes and collect candy and other goodies in the Royals’ trick-or-treat outing on the concourse of Santander Arena that night.

After that, the next time fans will get a chance to see the team on home ice is Saturday, November 12, in our annual 'Veterans Day' game, which will once again feature an afternoon showdown between the Army and Navy hockey teams and will include a special Rally Towel giveaway at that evening’s matchup between the Royals and Manchester Monarchs (@ 7:00 pm).

After a season of success last year, the Royals are proud to bring back our Community Series Saturdays for a second consecutive season. This year’s six game series includes Veterans Day (November 12), the Night of Hope (November 26), the Teddy Bear Toss Night (December 10), the Penn State University THON Celebration (January 21), Pink in the Rink (February 18), and our Autism Awareness Night (March 4).

Royals’ fans are going to want to get their tickets early for the Flyers Fridays series—five special nights when the team will honor the Royals’ NHL affiliate Philadelphia Flyers. For those five Friday games—December 30, January 6, January 20, March 3, and March 24—Santander Arena will be resplendent in orange and black, and special events for those games include a limited edition canvas Flyers’ image giveaway on the first Flyers’ Friday (December 30), which fans will be able to bring back to future games in the series to be signed by guest alumni of the Flyers.

Another series Royals’ fans may also want to jump on early are the three games in our world-famous “Ugly Series,” which is presented by FirstEnergy. The fan-favorite series this year includes an “Ugly Socks” giveaway on Sunday, November 27, an “Ugly Hat” for our Christmas Holiday game on Friday, December 23, and an “Ugly Scarf” on Saturday, January 21, 2017.

In this same vein, the Royals have four-game bobble-head series during the 2016-17 season. The bobble-heads this year won’t disappoint because they include some of the all-time fan favorite—and most-impactful—players in team history. Those bobble-head giveaways are set for Wednesday, December 28; Monday, January 16, 2017; Saturday, February 11, 2017; and Saturday, March 4, 2017.

Of course, full and partial season tickets for the 2016-17 Reading Royals ECHL season are also currently available. Call 610-898-7825 for more information or log onto www.royalshockey.com.
