SANTANDER ARENA & PERFORMING ARTS CENTER ANNOUNCES NEW SECURITY PROCEDURES FOR ALL EVENTS

Starting with the Halestorm concert on Friday, April 1, the SMG Managed Santander Arena and Santander Performing Arts Center has implemented additional and new security measures for all future events taking place at the Arena & Performing Arts Center.

These security enhancements include brand new walk-through metal detectors at every entrance of the arena & performing arts center. In addition, the new guidelines include the prohibition of backpacks, large bags (bags measuring greater than 14’’ x 16”), guns, knives of any kind, screwdrivers and any objects deemed unsafe. “These procedures are becoming standard practice in public assembly venues,” said David Farrar, General Manager of the Santander Arena and Performing Arts Center. “Our number one goal is to insure our patrons have a great and safe experience at both of our venues. We are hopeful that our patrons will be patient and compliant as our staff adapts to this new normal that we all face.”

Patrons are encouraged to arrive early, as doors will be opened 90 minutes prior to certain events to accommodate the additional time needed for the ingress. Door times will be announced on the event page at www.santander-arena.com. In addition to arriving early, patrons are advised to only bring necessary items to events to help expedite screenings.
