Yannick Tifu Set to Play 500th ECHL Game Tonight

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League, take this opportunity to congratulate forward Yannick Tifu who is set to become the thirty-fifth player in ECHL history to play his 500th game in the league this evening when the Royals face the Adirondack Thunder at Glens Falls Civic Center in Glens Falls, New York.

Tifu, an eleventh year pro from Brossard, Quebec, has recorded 522 points (171g-351a) in 499 career ECHL games, which places him twenty-fourth in the league’s all-time scoring list. His 351 assists are twelfth most in league history. In a 7-5 win over the Elmira Jackals on Wednesday, Tifu racked up five points (2g-3a) to give him 201 career points (75g-126a) in 218 games as a Royal, which ties him with Olivier Labelle as the team’s second leading all-time scorer. Tifu, who served as the Royals’ team captain for the organization’s 2013 Kelly Cup Championship run, is a two-time team Most Valuable Player (2011-12, 2012-13), a three-time “Fans Choice Award” recipient (2011-12, 2012-13, 2013-14). In 687 total career pro games, Tifu has registered 662 points (218g-444a).
