Saturday's Game in Reading Postponed - Royals Will Play Brampton Beast at Santander Arena on Monday (January 25 @ 7:00 pm)

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the NHL, today announced that due to the current state of emergency and potential blizzard conditions expected for Saturday, January 23, the Royals' home game against the Brampton Beast originally scheduled for that evening has been postponed and rescheduled until Monday, January 25, at Santander Arena (@7:00 pm).

Please note that the Gordon Kaye Wall of Honor Induction Ceremony will be rescheduled to a date later in the season.

Also, please note that tonight’s game (Friday, January 22 @ 7:00 pm) against the Beast is still on as scheduled. Tonight’s game has NOT been postponed. The Royals respectfully suggest that all fans use the utmost discretion in deciding whether or not to attend tonight’s game. Please place primary caution on personal safety and well-being.

As of this time, the Royals game against the Elmira Jackals scheduled for Sunday, January 24 (@ 4:00 pm) is still on as scheduled. Please be aware that this may change due to Elmira’s ability or inability to travel from their games in Norfolk, VA.

“This is a very rare occurrence and never an easy decision to make”, Team President Drew Bell said, “in the sake of everyone’s safety and the reports that keep getting worse of a direct hit from this storm we feel this is in the best interest of the teams and the fans.  We will honor everyone who purchased tickets to the game with replacement tickets to Monday or another game this season.  I will be working with Gordon Kaye to identify a date that works with him and the organization to welcome him to the Wall of Honor.  Please everyone be safe and enjoy the weather with your friends, neighbors and family.”

The Royals return to action tonight (Friday, January 22 @ 7 pm) when the team will host the Brampton Beast in the first of two consecutive at Santander Arena in Reading, Pennsylvania. Tonight’s matchup can be heard live on CBS SportsRadio 1240 am and 98.5 in Reading, Pennsylvania, starting with the pre-game warm-up show presented by Highmark Blue Shield at 6:30 pm Eastern Time.
