Defenseman Adam Comrie Recalled to Lehigh Valley

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League, today announced that defenseman Adam Comrie has been recalled to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League. In a separate transaction, the Royals placed goaltender Adam Morrison on the 21-Day Injured Reserve.

This is the first trip of the season to the AHL for Comrie, a sixth year pro from Great Falls, Virginia. He leads all defensemen in the ECHL with fifteen goals and thirty-four points in thirty-nine games with the Royals. His thirty-four points is tied for twelfth most overall in the league. He’s tied for the league lead amongst defensemen with fourteen power play points (6g-8a). His 116 shots on goal also leads all defensemen in the league. Comrie has played 164 AHL games with three different teams—including Lehigh Valley—in his career (11g-46a=57pts, 130 pims). Morrison, a fourth year pro from White Rock, British Columbia, has played ten games for the Royals (3-3-2-2; 2.27 gaa; .929 save percentage). Morrison, who last played on December 31, 2015, when he made 39 saves in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Adirondack Thunder, has recorded three shutouts for Reading, which is tied for the league lead.

The Royals return to action on Friday (January 22 @ 7 pm) when the team will host the Brampton Beast in the first of two consecutive at Santander Arena in Reading, Pennsylvania. On Friday, the Royals will honor the team’s affiliation with the Flyers with a guest appearance from Flyers legend, Bernie Parent. Recording artist, Lauren Hart, who performs the National Anthem for the Flyers’ home games at Wells Fargo Center, will sing the National Anthem. Friday’s matchup can be heard live on CBS SportsRadio 1240 am and 98.5 in Reading, Pennsylvania, starting with the pre-game warm-up show presented by Highmark Blue Shield at 6:30 pm Eastern Time.
