Goaltender Martin Ouellette Recalled to Lehigh Valley Phantoms

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League, today announced that goaltender Martin Ouellette has been recalled to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League. Ouellette, a second year pro from Saint-Hippolyte, Quebec, has played two games for the Royals, including last night’s 5-1 win over the Elmira Jackals. Ouellette, who recorded his second pro shutout for Reading last Sunday (October 18) against the South Carolina Stingrays, is 2-0-0-0 with a 0.50 goals against average and .976 save percentage for Reading so far this season.

Reading opens the home portion of the team’s schedule tonight (Saturday, October 24, @ 7:00 pm) when the Elmira Jackals visit Santander Arena in Reading. The Royals’ home opener will be preceded by a Block Party complete with a FREE concert by the Gin Blossoms. On Saturday, the 5000 fans will receive a Royals’ rally towel courtesy of Reading Health System; and fans will be entertained by the always whacky Fur Circus.

The game night broadcast for Saturday’s matchup can be heard live on CBS SportsRadio 1240 am and 98.5 in Reading, Pennsylvania, starting with the pre-game warm-up show presented by Highmark Blue Shield at 6:30 pm Eastern Time. Streaming audio is available free of charge on the Royals’ website (follow the ‘headset’ icon); and streaming video is available on a pay-per-view basis through ECHL.TV.
