Seven Royals to Participate in AHL Training Camps

Seven Royals to Participate in AHL Training Camps

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League, today announced that seven players who are either under ECHL contract with the Royals or have been qualified by Reading under ECHL rules will participate in AHL pre-season training camps. The five forwards and two defensemen will head to camps with three different teams: the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, the Springfield Falcons, and the San Jose Barracuda.

The Royals will send four players to Lehigh Valley’s training camp: forwards Robbie Czarnik, Cam Reid and Kevin Sundher; and defenseman Sam Windle. Forward Domenic Monardo and defenseman Jordan Heywood will attend training camp with Springfield, and forward Jonathan Parker will participate in training camp with San Jose.

The Fifteenth Anniversary Season of Royals’ hockey kicks off with back-to-back games against the South Carolina Stingrays at North Charleston Coliseum on Saturday (October 17) and Sunday (October 18). Reading opens the home portion of the team’s schedule on Saturday, October 24, (7:00 pm) when the Elmira Jackals visit Santander Arena. The home opener will be preceded by a Block Party complete with a FREE concert by the Gin Blossoms. Season Tickets for the 2015-16 Reading Royals ECHL season are currently available.
