Fifteenth Anniversary Training Camp Opens with Fan Friendly Saturday Practice Session

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League, today announced the team’s Pre-Season Training Camp Schedule. The on-ice practice sessions, which are open to the public, will begin with a fan friendly weekend practice on Saturday, October 3, 2015, (10:00 am – 12:00 noon) at Santander Arena in Reading, Pennsylvania.

On that Saturday morning, the Royals will also be hosting guests interested in purchasing new season tickets at a Pick-A-Seat Event. The Royals’ Fifteenth Anniversary Training Camp, which will feature a pair of pre-season games, continues from October 3 with daily skating sessions through Thursday, October 15. On-ice training camp practice sessions, all of which are open to the public, will be held from 10 am through 12 noon at Santander Arena. Please note, however, that the team’s on-ice practice session for Thursday, October 8, will be held at the Body Zone Sports and Wellness Complex (3103 Paper Mill Road, Wyomissing, PA; 610-376-2100) beginning at 11:00 am through 12:30 pm.

The Royals will kick off a two-game pre-season schedule on Friday, October 9 (7:05 pm) when the team will travel to First Arena in Elmira, New York, for Pre-Season Game One. The next night, Saturday, October 10 (7:00 pm), the Royals will take on the Norfolk Admirals in Pre-Season Game Two at Santander Arena. With respect to Pre-Season Game Two, the Royals have joined forces with the SMG managed Santander Arena and the Greater Berks Food Bank to invite everyone to that game for FREE! Fans can gain admission by simply bringing and donating a canned good or non-perishable food item for the Food Bank that will be collected at the main entrance to Santander Arena that night.

The Fifteenth Anniversary Season of Royals’ hockey kicks off with back-to-back games against the South Carolina Stingrays at North Charleston Coliseum on Saturday (October 17) and Sunday (October 18). Reading opens the home portion of the team’s schedule on Saturday, October 24, (7:00 pm) when the Elmira Jackals visit Santander Arena.
