Royals and Crowne Plaza Hotel Join Forces to Host ECHL Fans and Teams

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL today announced that the organization has joined forces with the Crowne Plaza Hotel (1741 Papermill Road, Reading, PA 19610; 610-376-3811) as the official host hotel for the Royals’ 2015-16 season. ECHL teams and fans traveling as a group are encouraged to contact Laura Taylor, Director of Special Events (LTaylor@ReadingCP.com; 610-236-4323) to make special arrangements, including group block room reservations at special prices, meeting areas, catered meals and bus parking.

“We’re excited to announce the Crowne Plaza as our host hotel,” said Royals’ President Drew Bell. “The Crowne Plaza is a marvelous facility located in an area that is convenient to restaurants and shopping with all of the amenities that you’d expect from a first rate hotel.”

“We look forward to hosting ECHL teams—and their fans—coming to Reading to take on the Royals,” said Laura Taylor. “Although we’re big Royals’ fans, we’ll do all within our power to make sure that the visiting teams and their fans have the best of accommodations and hotel services while staying in our city.”

The Crowne Plaza, which is conveniently located in the heart of the Reading’s most active restaurant and shopping district on Papermill Road, offers a wide variety of amenities including an on-site gourmet restaurant (Prime Steak and Wine), a friendly lounge and bar (Goodnites Lounge and Night Club), a business service center, six different meeting spaces (with up to 20,000 square feet of available meeting space), and an oversized fitness center with a heated indoor pool. The available services at Crowne Plaza also include complimentary high speed wireless internet, premium bedding and quiet zones, and “power everywhere.” The Crowne Plaza also has plenty of available parking including spaces available for buses.

The Fifteenth Season of Royals’ hockey kicks off with back-to-back games against the South Carolina Stingrays at North Charleston Coliseum on Saturday (October 17) and Sunday (October 18). Reading then opens the home portion of the team’s schedule on Saturday, October 24, (7:00 pm) when the Elmira Jackals visit Santander Arena.
