Royals Sign Defenseman Ryan Misiak to ATO

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League and the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League, today announced that the team has signed defenseman Ryan Misiak to an Amateur Tryout Agreement.

Misiak (5’11/187) (23), who hails from Shelby Township, Michigan, recently completed his senior season at Mercyhurst College, where he led all defensemen on the team with twenty-four points (8g-16a) in thirty-eight games with the Lakers, who made it all the way to the Atlantic Hockey Association championship finals before being knocked off by R.I.T. At the conclusion of the regular season, Misiak, who converted from playing forward to defenseman one game into the season, was selected as a defenseman to the AHA’s Second Team. Misiak earned that same honor in 2012-13 as forward, when he racked up eighteen goals (tied for team lead) and thirty-eight points (second on team) in forty-one games for the Lakers. In 156 career game at Mercyhurst, Misiak registered 119 points (45g-74a) and seventy-four penalty minutes.
