Goaltender Connor Knapp Recalled to Lehigh Valley

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League and Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League, today announced that goaltender Connor Knapp has been recalled to Lehigh Valley. In a separate transaction also announced today, forward Cam Reid has been returned to the Royals from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL. Reading also signed Matt Tendler as the team’s emergency back-up goaltender.

This marks the third trip of the season to the Phantoms for Knapp, a third year pro from Rochester, New York. He has not yet appeared in a game for Lehigh Valley. In twenty-eight appearances for the Royals, Knapp has compiled a record of 17-8-1-0 with a 2.71 (nineteenth best in the ECHL), and a .911 save percentage with one shutout.

Reid, a third year pro from Tsawwassen, Delta, British Columbia, was loaned to the Sound Tigers last Friday. He played in two games for Bridgeport, scoring a goal and racking up fourteen penalty minutes in his first game with the team—a 4-3 loss to the Hershey Bears on Saturday. In fifty games with the Royals, Reid has forty-seven points (20g-27a) and forty-four penalty minutes.

Tendler (5’9/165) (28), who hails from Warminster, Pennsylvania, and played at Neumann College, has not yet appeared in a pro game.
