Defenseman Maxim Lamarche Assigned to Reading

Defenseman Maxim Lamarche Assigned to Reading

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League and the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League, today announced that defenseman Maxim Lamarche have been assigned by the Flyers from the Phantoms to the Royals. In separate transactions also announced today, the Royals (i) activated goaltender Joe Howe from the ECHL Reserve and loaned him to the Manchester Monarchs of the AHL; and (ii) placed forward Andrew Johnston on ECHL Reserve.

Lamarche, a second year pro from Laval, Quebec, was recalled to Lehigh Valley last Thursday. He did not appear in either game played by the Phantoms this past weekend against the Norfolk Admirals. In twenty-five games with Reading, Lamarche has seven points (1g-6a) and thirteen penalty minutes. He leads all defensemen on the team in plus-minus at plus-10 (+10). In three games with the Phantoms, Lamarche has one point (0g-1a) and two penalty minutes. Howe, a second year pro from Plymouth, Minnesota, has appeared in one game for the Royals. He made 25 saves in the Royals’ 4-3 win over the Elmira Jackals on December 27. Overall this season, including his time with the Utah Grizzlies, Howe has compiled a record of 4-3-0-2 with a 3.57 goals against average and a .887 save percentage.
