Goaltender Martin Ouellette Loaned to Reading

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League and the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League, today announced that goaltender Martin Ouellette has been loaned by the Phantoms to the Royals. In separate transactions, the Royals also: (i) released Emergency Back-Up Goaltender Pete Dundovich; (ii) activated forward Kevin Walrod from the ECHL Reserve List; (iii) activated defenseman Jordan Heywood from the ECHL Reserve List; (iv) placed forward Matt Hatch on the ECHL Reserve List; and (v) placed forward Andrew Johnston on the ECHL Reserve List.

Ouellette, a first year pro from Saint-Hippolyte, Quebec, was recalled from Reading to Lehigh Valley on Thursday, November 27. He appeared in one game for the Phantoms during his stint in the AHL. He came on in substitution of starter Anthony Stolarz on Friday, November 28, in a 4-2 loss to the Albany Devils. Ouellette made eleven saves on twelve shots in forty minutes of game action, but was not the goaltender of record. He is currently riding a five game unbeaten streak for the Royals (3-0-1-1). Overall, in nine appearances for Reading, he has compiled a record of 4-3-1-1 with a goals against average of 2.91 and a .905 save percentage. Dundovich appeared in one game for the Royals, making six saves on seven shots in twenty minutes of action for the Royals in last Saturday’s 8-3 loss to the Greenville Road Warriors. He was not the goaltender of record in that game.
