Goaltender Connor Knapp and Defenseman Adam Comrie Recalled to Lehigh Valley

Goaltender Connor Knapp and Defenseman Adam Comrie Recalled to Lehigh Valley

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League and the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League, today announced that goaltender Connor Knapp and defenseman Adam Comrie have been recalled to Lehigh Valley. In separate transactions, the Royals also: (i) placed forward Ian Watters on ECHL Reserve; (ii) activated forward Andrew Johnston from ECHL Reserve; and (iii) signed goaltender Matt DiGirolamo to an ECHL contract.

This marks the first call up of the season for both Knapp and Comrie. Knapp, a third year pro from Rochester, New York, has appeared in fourteen games with the Royals this season compiling a record of 7-5-0-0 with a 3.32 goals against average and a .893 save percentage. Comrie, a fifth year pro from Great Falls, Virginia, has registered fourteen points (7g-7a) and twenty-eight penalty minutes in twenty-one games for Reading this year.

DiGirolamo (5'9/160) (26), who hails from Ambler, Pennsylvania, played four seasons of NCAA Division I hockey for the University of New Hampshire from 2008 through 2012; but has not yet appeared in a pro game.

NEXT UP: The Royals return to Santander Arena in Reading, Pennsylvania tonight to face the Jackals for the second of three in a row. The Royals will honor the team’s new affiliation relationship with the Philadelphia Flyers with an appearance by Flyer Legend Bob ‘The Hound’ Kelly. The team will also wear special jerseys that will be available for purchase after the game on-line. Tonight, the Royals will also celebrate ‘Are You Happy?’ night and give away a Jack Gulati Bobblehead to the first 1500 fans fifteen year of older.
