Royals Receive Five From Lehigh Valley, But Three Head Back to AHL Camp with Springfield

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League and Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League, today announced that the team received five players from the Phantoms. Four players under ECHL contract with Reading were returned to the Royals from Phantoms training camp: (i) Mike Marcou (defenseman); (ii) David Marshall (forward); (iii) Domenic Monardo (forward); and (iv) Sean Wiles (forward). However, after being released from Lehigh Valley’s training camp, Marshall, Monardo and Wiles accepted invitations to join training camp with the Springfield Falcons of the AHL. In a separate transaction, defenseman Brett Flemming was loaned by the Phantoms to the Royals.

The Royals open the 2014-15 season on Saturday, October 18, at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, West Virginia, where the team will face the Wheeling Nailers. The home portion of the schedule will kick off the following Saturday (October 25, 2014 @ 7:05 pm) when the Elmira Jackals travel to Santander Arena. Royals’ season tickets are currently available.
