Eight Royals To Participate in AHL Training Camps

Eight Royals To Participate in AHL Training Camps

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League and Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League, today announced that eight players under ECHL contract with Reading will participate in AHL pre-season training camps. The six forwards and two defensemen will head to camp with five different teams, including the Phantoms, Hershey Bears, Manchester Monarchs, Utica Comets, and Worcester Sharks.

The Royals will send four players to Lehigh Valley’s training camp, including forwards David Marshall, Domenic Monardo, and Sean Wiles and defenseman Mike Marcou. Forward Brock Higgs will attend training camp with Hershey, while forward Adam Hughesman will attend training camp with Manchester. Forward Cam Reid will participate in Utica’s camp, and defenseman Jordan Heywood will be in pre-season camp with Worcester.

The Royals open the 2014-15 season on Saturday, October 18, at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, West Virginia, where the team will face the Wheeling Nailers. The home portion of the schedule will kick off the following Saturday (October 25, 2014 @ 7:05 pm) when the Elmira Jackals travel to Santander Arena. Royals’ season tickets are currently available.
