Vote Now for Your Six Favorite Former Royals to Make the NHL as Part of the Free Shirt Friday Promotion Presented by V&M Towing

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the NHL and Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the AHL, today announced the details of a brand new, special game night promotion this season at Santander Arena in Reading, Pennsylvania: ‘Free-Shirt Friday’ presented by V&M Towing.

Starting immediately, fans are encouraged to log onto the Royals website at http://royalshockey.com/tshirt/ (under the ‘Fan Zone’ tab at www.royalshockey.com) and cast a vote for their six favorite former Royals who have advanced to the NHL out of a list of twelve names, which were pre-selected out of the twenty-nine total players who have gone on from Reading to play at the highest level of professional hockey. The top six overall choices will each be honored with a special t-shirt prominently displaying that player’s individual image while he was with the Royals. Each of the selected players will then have a specially designated Friday night game when his t-shirt will be given out to the first 1500 fans fifteen years of age and older.

The twelve players listed on the ballot are: Ryan Flinn, Yutaka Fukufuji, Brett Gallant, Philipp Grubauer, Bracken Kearns, George Parros, Rich Peverley, Jonathan Quick, James Reimer, Antoine Roussel, Ben Scrivens, and Dave Steckel.

The six games currently designated for the ‘Free Shirt Friday’ promotion are: November 7 v Fort Wayne Komets; November 28 v Greenville Road Warriors; December 12 v Wheeling Nailers; February 6 v Florida Everblades, February 27 v Greenville Road Warriors, and April 10 v Indy Fuel. The Royals open the 2014-15 season on Saturday, October 18, at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, West Virginia, where the team will face the Wheeling Nailers. The home portion of the schedule will kick off the following Saturday (October 25, 2014 @ 7:05 pm) when the Elmira Jackals travel to Santander Arena. Royals’ season tickets are currently available.
